What Is Eye Care Technology?
Eye care technology refers to the different types of equipment used in optometry practice.
What Eye Care Technology Does EyeMax Use?
EyeMax only uses the most up-to-date, advanced technology available. This is the only way to ensure our patients the best possible eye care. At EyeMax, we have two different types of advanced eye care optometry tools.
- OCT 500 Optical Coherence Tomographer
The OCT 500 optical coherence tomographer is an advanced technology that is able to generate cross-sectional, three-dimensional (3D), high-resolution images of the retina. And that includes the optic disc, and the anterior segment of your eyes as well. This machine gives the optometrist important information that will help aid them in diagnosing and managing a range of ocular diseases.
The OCT 500 optical coherence tomography has an integrated live fundus view imaging feature and is the most user-friendly OCT on the market because of its fully automatic function. It also has a touch screen, eye-focus, optimization, and image capture functions that are all performed automatically. Immediately after capturing the image, the OCT 500 can instantly produce a report. This is important because the patient doesn’t have to wait days or weeks for a diagnosis.
- Optomap Field Retinal Imaging
The optomap is an advanced technology that is capable of capturing over 80% of a patient’s retina in a single image and is more effective than a traditional eye exam.
The optomap is fast and completely painless as it never touches the patient’s eye.
The optomap is great for early protection from vision impairment and blindness, as well as early detection of debilitating diseases such as cardiovascular disease, stroke, and cancer. And early detection means your optometrist in Lexington, KY can provide you with treatments that will help reduce the risks to your sight and other potential health problems.
