As of Sunday 4/26, Governor Beshear has approved eye care to slowly resume during Phase 1 "Healthy at Work"! This now includes routine examinations for glasses and/or contact lenses.

All EyeMax Locations we begin a "soft re-opening" on Monday, May 4th. Schedules will be reduced in order to promote social distancing while allowing patients to spend the appropriate time with the doctor. Patients will be placed in order of medical necessity and our office hours may be extended or reduced based on necessity and health regulations. All doors will remain locked and staff will have criteria to follow before approving any entry into the office.

Please carefully review the new procedures in place to ensure the health and safety of all patients and staff:
-Prior to any visit in office or via telehealth, you will be asked to provide insurance information and complete paperwork/payment online or by phone as often as possible.

-Guests will be limited to PATIENT ONLY. If you have a special circumstance, please alert us prior to your visit and we will try our best to accommodate.

-Patients are to call the office once they arrive in the parking lot and will be screened for COVID-19 by the technician over the phone.
*If you have traveled or felt ill anytime within 2 weeks, please alert us straight away. We will ask that you do not come to the office until you have been home and well for a minimum of 14 days.

-All guests will have a temperature screening to approve entry and will be asked to wash or sanitize hands immediately upon entering the office.
*If the reading is elevated, you will be asked to utilize our telehealth option and/or possibly return at a later time.

-We recommend and you will be asked to wear a mask if at all possible while in our office.
*Our doctors and staff will be wearing masks at all times. No worries, it is the same EyeMax family you know and love!!

-Frequent hand washing is required by staff and recommended by patients

-An even more stringent cleaning/disinfecting protocol will be utilized at all times and especially between patients.

-All offices will reflect social distancing at our check in/check out areas and as often as possible during each and every visit.

It is our desire to provide the safest and healthiest care to patients while protecting our staff. Your continued patience is greatly appreciated while we adjust to our new normal. If you reach our voicemail at any time, please leave a detailed message and your call will be returned as soon as possible. If you leave a message after 5pm, your call will be returned the next business day. Thank You!

Coronavirus continues to make headline news daily across the globe. EyeMax would like to assure our patients, doctors, and staff that the health and safety of all remains our utmost concern. We are closely following CDC guidelines and continue to monitor the spread of COVID-19 in order to maintain a safe environment. We have already implemented additional precautions to ensure the health of everyone in our office.

We have enhanced our already comprehensive office cleaning and sanitization processes, and continue emphasis on proper personal hygiene, including frequent handwashing and the proper use of hand sanitizer. All locations are equipped with cleaning supplies which have been EPA-certified to kill the COVID-19 virus, with instructions to increase the frequency of cleaning commonly touched surfaces, touchscreens, door handles, and writing utensils. In addition, tissues, hand sanitizer, and hand washing remains readily available to all patients along with our staff.

If you have traveled outside of the United States within the past month, or have been in contact with anyone who has, please let us know prior to scheduling or coming to your appointment.

If you have been ill recently and/or have experienced any flu-like symptoms (coughing, sneezing, chills, body aches, fever, fatigue, upset stomach, etc) please plan on delaying your evaluation for 1-2 weeks, and when you have been fever-free for at least 48 hours.

Ocular Health remains our priority and if you have to reschedule or avoid a previously planned visit due to any of the symptoms listed above, our doctors are happy to review the patient's record to ensure the best care possible while decreasing the chance of spreading an infection.

If a patient arrives at any EyeMax location presenting any flu-like symptoms, your evaluation will be rescheduled following those same guidelines.

While we are conveniently located inside of WalMart, we are a private optometry group practice. Please feel free to utilize the separate front-door entries we have at each location to avoid any unnecessary traffic you may otherwise encounter. We are continuing to follow regular updates regarding the status within Central KY and will always inform you immediately if any procedures change further.

We are medical professionals and are working closely with health agencies to provide up-to-date, accurate information from reliable sources to our staff and patients.
