Save Your Vision Month.
Save Your Vision Month is the AOA's annual campaign to remind Americans about the importance of good vision and healthy eyes. The first week of the month is annually designated by the president of the United Sates as Save Your Vision Week. Materials can be found on the AOA Web site media kit page (www.aoa.org/x5067.xml).
National Nutrition Month.
This nutrition education and information campaign, sponsored annually by the American Dietetic Association, focuses attention on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits. The theme for 2011 is "Eat Right with Color" (www.eatright.org/nnm).
Workplace Eye Wellness Month.
When it comes to eye health, the more vision ailments employees have, the more medical care they utilize, increasing health care-related expenses, according to event sponsor PBA. Employers are encouraged to contact the organization for information on they Healthy Eyes Vision Wellness Program, promoting good vision in the workplace.
